Toutenant – Sermesse

On the edges of the Pontoux and Quatre Arpents woods, Toutenant is a rural village that contains some beautifully preserved traditional Bressane houses.

Step by step:

Follow the signposts marked S6CC3R.  At the first cross-roads carry straight on.  Turn left at the second cross-roads in the direction of Sermesse.  Cross the old railway tracks and walk alongside the Bois de la Chapelle and then the communal woods.

On entering Sermesse, after the pond, take the left hand fork and then continue straight on.  Take the stone pathway that runs parallel to the D973 (the old RN73) and cross the corn fields (please stay on the pathway so as not to damage the crops).  Take the third track on the left to reach the farm.  Take the road on the left at the end of the track to return to Toutenant.

Start: Toutenant Mairie car park

9.5km, 2 hours 30mins.  Can also be done by bicycle.
